In response to skyrocketing costs of healthcare and the lack of coverage for millions of Americans, San Francisco is the first city in the country to recently enact a new set of mandates. Employers in San Francisco with over 20 employees are now required to provide health care for all their employees.

DOSA is proud to do business in a city that has chosen to test a landmark solution to an ongoing and serious national problem. We are pleased that all employees at DOSA will now have access to health benefits.

While this is a significant benefit, all restaurants in San Francisco must consider options to cover the significant costs associated with it. The substantial price tag of the health care initiative requires that we share this cost with the community. Rather than increase prices, we have chosen to highlight this cost as a 4% pre-tax fee for each purchase so our customers can be aware and proud that they are participating in a cutting edge program that is uniquely San Franciscan.

Please note that this is not a service charge as all funds resulting from the surcharge will go directly to healthcare benefits for all employees at DOSA – most of whom have no benefits currently – including our hard-working kitchen staff.

We are very grateful for your business and fully realize that you have numerous dining choices in San Francisco. We are also proud to support an initiative, which is the first of its kind in the nation, and which can only work with your support.
